NEBSTAR participated in The Chemistry Day- Science on wheels program on Sunday October 16.  It was a huge success! There were over 800 people that came through.

Alezuyo Susan Story

All is not gloom and doom for Susan. She is one of the lucky students whose parents can afford to pay for her to stay in school. Susan comes from another town called Arua which has better schools and facilities than Nebbi District. However, Susan loves to study at NEBSTA because of the dedicated teachers and the quiet environment which is conducive for learning. She also likes the discipline that is enforced at the school. We are happy to have Susan  at NEBSTA.

Agenonga Christine’s Story

Agenonga Christine comes from a very poor family in Jonam County. According to the Jonam culture she needs to be married off so that her poor parents can get some bridal wealth. However, Christie has resisted the pressure to be married off because she recognizes the fact that education is the key to a bright future and believes that she would support her family better if she gets an education and a good job.  She decided to go one grade backward to gain momentum in order to perform better in the national examination. Jennifer Fransica’s Story

Lakot Concy’s Story

In 2003 we were living togetherwith my parents in the Internally Displaced Peoples’ (IDP) Camp. One day they went to the village to dig the garden and get some food for us but they were attacked by the rebels on the way. We were told that they took them to Sudan and killed them. Up to now we do not know where their dead bodies were. We were left with our 60 years old grandmother who has no means of paying our school fees. I was lucky that I was taken by Honourable Betty to study at NEBSTA. I have brothers and sisters called Odera Denis, Laker, Kevin, Aryemo Scovia, and our last born Olana Docus are staying with my grandmother.

Fuambe Teopista Peace’s Story

I am called Fuambe Peace from Padyere Nebbi Uganda. A girl of 16 years old my father’s name are Oketha Luka and my mother’s name is Adi Eflas.

My parents died of HIV/AIDS since 1998 when I was 5 years old when they died. I was in the care of my grandfather until 2004 when she also died. That left me totally at the mercy of God and I am the first born of my parents. We are three and I am the elder. I completed my primary education in 2007 and I was unable to join secondary school. With good luck honorable Betty Udongo admitted me in her school last year. That gave me high chance to join secondary school hoping this is a bright beginning to my future. May God bless the helping hand of honorable Betty Udongo.

Anirwoth Gladies’s Story

I am called Anirwoth Gladies, age of 15 years old from Padyere, Nebbi Uganda. My parents are Apio Emmiliana and Okumo John.

My mother died of HIV/AIDS since 1998 and my father died later in 1999. That left me with no support and I stayed with grandmother.

I completed my primary seven (7^th grade) in 2007 but there were no school fees until recently in 2009, Honorable Betty admitted me into her school. That gave me a chance to begin Senior One and Two. So I am grateful for this studying sponsorship Betty has started. Without Betty, where will I be?
